Steelers Hall of Fame safety Troy Polamalu has apparently picked who will induct him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this August in Canton, Dick LeBeau.

The former defensive coordinator for the Steelers is a Hall of Famer in his own right. He was elected in 2010.

LeBeau lead the Steelers defense to three Super Bowls (winning two) during his second tenure in Pittsburgh which lasted from 2004 through 2015, when he was hired as the assistant head coach/defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans.

His first stint with Pittsburgh was from 1992 through 1996.

LeBeau is considered one of the best defensive minds in football history and was named the 2008 Coordinator of the Year by “The Sporting News.”

He also spent nearly 60 years in professional football, playing for 14 years and coaching for 45.

Polamalu made the announcement on Twitter with a picture of himself and LeBeau with comic word bubbles.

“Polamalu says “Put me in Coach!” to which LeBeau answers “I’d be honored.”

“Can you please tell them that all I did was follow you…” the always humble Polamalu adds to the post.

The 2020 class (delayed due to the pandemic) being inducted on August 7. Polamalu will be inducted that day along with his coach Bill Cowher (being inducted by Art Rooney II) and Donnie Shell

He 2021 Hall of Fame class will be inducted on August 8 featuring Alan Faneca (being inducted by Hines Ward) and Bill Nunn.
