PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – ‘Will see’ was the answer from Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey when asked if he would play on Thursday night in Cleveland. Ramsey confirmed after a ‘jog-through’ practice he was limited in, he broke his wrist in the first series of the game against the Bengals on Sunday.
“Of course, I’m going to try to, but I have to be able to protect it,” Ramsey said about playing against the Browns.
Ramsey still played every snap Sunday against Cincinnati even with the broken wrist and finished with a season-high eight tackles including a tackle for loss. In his 22 games with the Steelers, Ramsey has never missed a start and missed only five percent of the defensive snaps.
“It’s not like it’s a real injury, it’s a broken wrist,” Ramsey said. “I can’t really do anything about it. It’s going to be about seeing If I’m able to protect it and still be myself and good enough if I go out there I won’t let my teammates down.”
Also limited in practice with Ramsey is the other experienced slot corner, Brandin Echols who suffered a concussion and left the Cincinnati game.
Steelers will hold a practice on Wednesday before leaving for Cleveland and the game Thursday night.
