Report: David DeCastro Out For Opener Against Giants

DeCastro will be replaced by veteran and new Steeler Stefen Wisniewski

According to a report, the Steelers will be without five-time Pro Bowl guard David DeCastro for the season opener on Monday night against the New York Giants.

The Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac reports that DeCastro will be replaced by Stefen Wisniewski.

DeCastro has been slowed by a knee injury which he aggravated in a training camp scrimmage.

DeCastro says the injury isn't too and he hopes to be back as soon as possible.

If it's confirmed that DeCastro can't go on Monday, that will make for three players at new positions for Ben Roethlisberger's return.

10-year veteran and Pittsburgh native Wisniewski, who helped the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl last season, will be reportedly joined by right tackle Zach Banner.

Matt Feiler, who was last year's starting right tackle switches over to the left side taking over Ramon Foster, following his retirement.

The reorganized O-line will have some consistency with eight-time Pro Bowler center Maurkice Pouncey and Alejandro Villanueva at left tackle.
