PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – His return celebrated by teammates in training camp and his physical impact immediate, Adam Schefter reports linebacker Elandon Roberts was released by the Steelers Sunday.
During the final practice of last week, Roberts said he never went into any season thinking he had definitely made the team.
The 32-year-old signed days before the second preseason game and finished with 10 tackles in a pair of games, fourth on the Steelers.
A sixth-round pick by the Patriots in 2016, Roberts played four seasons in New England, winning a Super Bowl, followed by three years with Miami. Roberts played with the Steelers in 2023-24, 33 games, 29 starts, 147 tackles and played last year with the Raiders under current Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
