Aaron Rodgers believes that retired Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could be an offensive coordinator.
The injured New York Jets quarterback was on The Pat McAfee show for his weekly segment when he made the comments.
Rodgers says he doesn’t believe many ex-players that can become a good coach.
“That’s why you don’t see a lot of great, former players coaching,” said Rodgers.
He believes for those good players, they would have a hard time explaining the process to those less talented.
Rodgers adds that he, along with Roethlisberger were part of the last few quarterbacks that could call their own plays while driving down the field.
“I think Ben can do it, just because he understands the game and I think he can call it in his sleep I think at the line of scrimmage,” said Rodgers.
Rodgers says he always enjoyed watching Roethlisberger move down the field, while calling his own plays.
Would Roethlisberger make a good offensive coordinator? We’ll probably never know.
Roethlisberger has said in the past, coaching takes up too much time that he’d rather spend with his family.
