The Steelers have made it official, signing linebacker Melvin Ingram III to a one-year deal and have also signed offensive tackle Chaz Green.

Ingram III comes to Pittsburgh after playing his first nine seasons with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers. He's a three-time Pro Bowler and has started in 98 career games with 348 total tackles.

The 6'2", 247 pounder had seven sacks each in 2018 and 2019.  Limited by injuries in 2020, Ingram played in just seven games with no sacks and no tackles for loss.

Ingram suffered a knee patella sprain in September last year, going on short-term injured reserve.  He then suffered the same injury again in November and placed on season-ending IR.

"The ability is there, he hasn't been right (health) in two years," voice of the Chargers Matt Smith told the PM Team on 93.7 The Fan.  "I think he's still got it and he's still an awesome locker room force.  The players absolutely loved this guy.  He was certainly one of the locker room leaders."

Green has started in eight games during his six-year career in the NFL playing for Dallas, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Denver and most recently with Indianapolis.

Green played in 15 games for the Colts last season and made one start in Week 16 against the Steelers.

Green was selected in the 3rd round of the 2015 draft by the Cowboys.

To make room on their 90-man roster, the Steelers released offensive tackle Jarron Jones and linebacker Calvin Bundage.

Steelers report to camp on Wednesday and begin closed practices on Thursday.
