PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Already adding free agent running back Rico Dowdle to compete for reps with Jaylen Warren, the Steelers added another tailback on Monday according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Seven-year NFL veteran Travis Homer to the Steelers on a one-year deal. While a running back by position, his value likely is more on special teams. Homer has played 1,303 career snaps on special teams and over 60% of the Bears special teams snaps the last three seasons.

As a tailback, he only had seven rushes in three seasons with Chicago, for 21 yards. In his previous four years with Seattle, 83 carries, 453 yards and his only rushing touchdown. His best year was 21 attempts for 177 yards in 2021. He's added 55 career receptions for 475 yards and two scores.

Along with Warren and Dowdle, Homer is entering a room with second-year running back Kaleb Johnson.
