PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) —The Pittsburgh Steelers have had their draft picks solidified by the league.

While there might not be too many surprises at this point, the Steelers will kick off their draft with the 24th pick.

But there are a couple finer details to know about.

Many teams' draft picks eventually begin to look atypical after trades get factored in, and that's indeed the case for Pittsburgh.

The Steelers will not have a fifth-round selection this year, barring some new trade.

As you might recall, the Steelers lost their original fifth-round pick after trading it to the Ravens for Chris Wormley.

And that's also how the Steelers got the extra seventh-rounder.

The Steelers also have two fourth-rounders.

The latter was a recent compensatory pick awarded to the team for last year's departure of Javon Hargrave.

While the Steelers retained a sixth-rounder, it's not their original one — neither is their first seventh-rounder, to be precise.

The sixth came from Tampa Bay when Pittsburgh traded Jerald Hawkins.

The other seventh came from Miami as part of the Minkah Fitzpatrick bundle.

Regardless, the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled for Thursday, April 29 at 8 p.m.

Day 2 of the draft will be on Friday, April 30 and will start at 7 p.m.

And the third and final day of the draft will begin at noon on Saturday, May 1.
