PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) At long last, there is complete confirmation that the Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed interest in free agent safety Tyann Mathieu.

The headline of the Honey Badger signing with the Steelers has sounded like a pipe dream for a number of weeks now, but recent news has taken fans a step closer.
In his April 12 edition of Asked and Answered, Steelers writer Bob Labriola was asked if the team was interested in Mathieu and is they had the cap room.
Labriola said that the team has shown an interest in singing Mathieu and that they would have enough cap space to do it.
Mathieu has visited with the New Orleans Saints but is believed to be waiting until after the NFL Draft to make a final decision.
Labriola went on to say that with the Steelers being interested in Mathieu, it will come down to if Mathieu has interest in the Steelers.
“The issue is whether Mathieu agrees with the Steelers’ assessment about what he is worth.”
Kansas City Chiefs color commentator Danan Hughes joined the PM Team on 93.7 the Fan and discussed the idea of Mathieu to the Steelers.
Hughes said that Mathieu would be a perfect complement to Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Fans will still have to wait and see if the Honey Badger lands in Pittsburgh, but for now it looks like the Steelers have had Mathieu on their radar.
