PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The Steelers without a starting corner, the Vikings without a starting receiver as the injury reports were released on Wednesday afternoon before Thursday's game.
Minnesota second leading and former thousand-yard receiver Adam Thielen is out with an ankle injury as is starting left tackle Christian Darrisaw, also with an ankle injury. Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is questionable, he missed last week. Linebacker Blake Lynch (hip) and safety Camryn Bynum (ankle) are also questionable.
Steelers are without Joe Haden for a fourth consecutive week due to a foot injury. Linebacker Robert Spillane is out with a knee injury, although he was at least cleared from COVID-19 protocol.
Guard BJ Finney will indeed miss with a nagging back problem, likely John Leglue makes his first NFL start. Defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs (ankle) is out for third straight week.
Practice moves
Punter Pressley Harvin has been inconsistent this year and the week where the Steelers play against former teammate Jordan Berry in Minnesota, the team signed a punter to the practice squad. Drue Chrisman was previously on the Bengals practice squad after signing out of Ohio State in May, where he averaged 44 yards a kick in his college career.
Normally teams don't have an extra punter unless of injury or COVID concerns. That could be the case or with Harvin 31st in the league, they might consider a change or at least the threat of change.
Long-snapper Rex Sunahara also signed to the practice squad after spending the last year plus on-and-off the Dolphins practice squad. Last week the Steelers listed starting long-snapper Christian Kuntz with a hip injury, even though he played against Baltimore.
Steelers terminated the practice squad contracts of defensive back Linden Stephens and wide receiver Tyler Vaughns.
