PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Jaylen Warren feels great, went through a full practice on Friday. While the third-year running back is listed as questionable, there is a feeling Warren will return against the Raiders.

Warren said he’s gotten the plays he feels like he’s needed this week. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin even said there was ‘good trajectory’ and he’s feeling ‘optimistic about his inclusion’ at the Raiders on Sunday.

“I was trying to make it hard on all of them,” Warren said. “I want to get back.”

Suffering through a hamstring injury before this latest knee injury that happened late in the Chargers game, Warren has rushed only 14 times for 54 yards with five receptions for 28 yards this season after career-highs of 784 yards rushing, 370 yards receiving.

“Man, Jaylen is great just because of the type of player he is,” said tackle Broderick Jones. “He’s physical. He’s not afraid to run you over. He’s not afraid to pick up a linebacker rushing through the A-gap if need be. I feel like Jaylen has a full package in his game and he understands the way he plays. Everybody knows he’s a contribution to this offense.”

“Jaylen is a huge part of our run offense,” said tackle Dan Moore. “Not just that, his blocking on third down as well. Jaylen is a really big player in our offense. Obviously, his skill set helps us tremendously, so having a guy like that back, especially taking some reps off of 22 (Najee Harris). You love having your 1-2 punch, good to have that guy back for sure, hopefully.”
