PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The 30-23 win at Seattle means Mike Tomlin continues to have never coached a losing season in 17 years with the Steelers. Steelers need to win at the Ravens on Sunday and a couple of other combinations get them in.

Here they are along with several other notes from the win over the Seahawks.

Playoffs

Per Joe Ferreira--Steelers get the 7th seed assuming a win at Baltimore and...
-Colts-Texans tie
-Buffalo loss at Miami
-Jacksonville loss or tie at Tennessee

Even with a loss at the Ravens, if the Jags lose, Denver wins at the Raiders and the Colts and Texans DO NOT tie, Steelers would still make the post-season

Passing back-to-back

Mason Rudolph started the game for the second consecutive week and was 18-24 for 274 yards. Last week, Rudolph threw for 290 yards against the Bengals. It marked the first time a Steelers quarterback has thrown for 250 or more yards in consecutive games since September 19 and 26 of 2021, Ben Roethlisberger against the Raiders and Bengals.

Yardage outburst

It was the second time this season the Steelers gained over 400 yards. The 467 yards was the most since the Steelers gained 527 yards in a loss at Denver as Roethlisberger threw for 464 yards. Steelers rushed for 202 yards and threw for 274 with a nine-yard loss on a sack on Sunday.

Say What?

Two weeks after drawing criticism for not blocking on a play near the goal line and not pursing a defender after an interception against the Colts, George Pickens had another huge game. Pickens had a career-high 195 yards on four receptions against Cincinnati. The second-year wide receiver finished 131 yards on seven receptions against the Seahawks including a spectacular diving catch.

It was the second time in his career Pickens had back-to-back 100-yard games. He had 130 yards against the Ravens and 107 against the Rams earlier this season.

Strip sack

Steelers had just taken a 27-20 lead on a Chris Boswell field goal and on the first play of Seattle’s ensuing drive, rookie linebacker Nick Herbig stripped Geno Smith with 7:00 to play in the fourth quarter. Boswell would add another field goal with 4:33 to play to make it a two-possession game.

It’s his second career strip sack and third career sack overall for the Steelers fourth-round pick.

Where was this?

Former Steelers first-round pick Devin Bush had a career-high 17 tackles (five solo) to lead all players in the game Sunday. Another former first-round pick, Artie Burns had a pair of solo tackles.

Up off the practice squad, safety Eric Rowe led the Steelers in tackles with 10 (9 solo) and linebacker Myles Jack at eight (seven solo)

Anyone seen Pressley

Steelers punter Pressley Harvin kicked one time on Sunday for 46 yards. The last time the Steelers had one punt in a game was November 21, 2021 against the Chargers.

Joining Franco & Rocky

Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren became just the fourth Steelers running back combo to each have 1,000 yards from scrimmage. The two join Walter Abercrombie with Frank Pollard and Earnest Jackson along with Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier. Harris has rushed for 923 yards and caught 24 passes for 149 yards. Warren has 751 yards rushing and 353 yards receiving.
