According to reports, punter Cameron Johnston’s career in Pittsburgh is over and ends with him only playing part of one game.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Johnston will be released by the Steelers.
That means Corliss Waitman has won the punting competition.
Johnston signed a three-year deal worth $9 million in the 2024 offseason.
Waitman signed with the Steelers for his third stint with the team after Johnston’s injury and averaged 46.4 yards a punt with a longest of 71 yards.
Waitman is set to make $1.1 million this season.
