The Steelers have resigned reserve defensive end Chris Wormley.
The deal is reportedly a two-year deal.
Wormley will give the Steelers some depth at defensive end after Tyson Alualu re-signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Injury limited his opportunities in his first year with the Steelers. Traded with a 7th round pick from the Ravens for the Steelers 5th round pick, Wormley spent part of this season on Injured Reserve.
The most snaps played were in the final regular season game against Cleveland.
The Michigan man played in 66% of the snaps with 2 tackles, a sack, TFL and QB hit against the Browns.
On the season, Wormley played a couple of handfuls of snaps typically per game, finishing with 8 tackles and that sack against the Browns. Wormley’s stats with the Ravens-39 games, 15 starts, 54 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 7 passes defended, 4 TFL, 9 QB hits.
While there is still need for depth on the defensive line Wormley did nothing to distinguish himself during his one year with the Steelers.
