The Steelers have signed a former Pitt and Woodland Hills defensive back/cornerback.
Lafayette Pitts signed with the Steelers on Friday afternoon. The 28-year-old played on the Buffalo Bills practice squad last year.
Pitts has appeared in 40 NFL games going back to 2016, playing for Miami, Jacksonville and Buffalo.
He has 21 tackles in in professional career and hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2018.
The 5'11" Pitts started all four years at Pitt between 2012-15 making 144 tackles and four interceptions in 111 games with the Panthers.
Pitts adds depth to both DB and CB and will probably compete with a few others for a spot on the Steelers practice squad.
The Steelers are also reportedly not totally sold on Justin Layne and if he's cut, could open up a competition for that fourth corner spot.
