PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers signed 13 including a couple of locals to Reserve/Future contracts on Thursday.
Tight end Kevin Rader from Pine-Richland and Chartiers Valley grad and Duquesne All-American Christian Kuntz both are back.
Rader played in the playoff game against Cleveland as a late replacement due to injury and with a team option on tight end Vance McDonald’s contract, could have a shot at a job next season.
Kuntz was a star linebacker with the Dukes, but converted into a long-snapper. If the team needs to cut a little salary, Kuntz would have the opportunity to battle with Kameron Canaday for that role.
The others signed include a pair of receivers-Anthony Johnson (U Buffalo) and Cody White (Michigan State), trio of offensive tackles-John Leglue (Tulane), Anthony Coyle (Fordham) and Brandon Walton (Florida Atlantic), safety John Battle (LSU), linebacker Tegray Scales (Indiana), defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas (Florida State), defensive end Calvin Taylor (Kentucky), punter Corliss Waitman (South Alabama) and corner Trevor Williams (Penn State).
11 of the 13 players were with the Steelers for at least a part of the 2020 season.
