Steelers sign three rookies to contracts

PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) A day after signing second round pick George Pickens to a four-year contract, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed three more rookies to deals.

Sixth-round pick Connor Heyward and seventh-round picks Mark Robinson and Chris Oladokun have all been signed by the Steelers.


Heyward was drafted out of Michigan State is described as a versatile player who can swing between tight end and halfback.

Steelers tight end coach Alfredo Roberts says Heyward will start as a tight end.

Roberts is a linebacker from Ole Miss but played as a running back for a majority of his college career.

He finished his time at Ole Miss as a linebacker and was taken by the Steelers after that one year.

Oladokun was one of two quarterbacks taken by the Steelers in the 2022 NFL Draft, but has the distinction of being the first one to sign a contract.

First-round pick Kenny Pickett has yet to sign his first deal but that is surely on its way.

Oladokun played finished his college career at South Dakota State University and threw for 3,164 yards in 2021.

The Steelers opened up rookie camp on Friday and have signed four rookies in the meantime.
