The Steelers have signed a wide receiver.
WR Tarik Black, who originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts after going undrafted in 2021, has been signed.
The team released defensive lineman Jonathan Marshall to make room for Black.
The 26-year-old played college ball at Michigan before transferring to Texas.
Black spent part of the 2021 season with the Colts’ practice squad before he was released.
Shortly after, the New York Jets signed him to their practice squad. He made his NFL debut in the last game of the 2021 season against the Bills, making one catch for 10 yards.
Black was released toward the end of the 2022 season by the Jets and was on and off the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad last season before he was released in the offseason.
The move comes a day after rookie receiver Roman Wilson suffered an ankle sprain that is expected to keep him out a few weeks.
