The Steelers have officially put in a bid for Pittsburgh to be the host city of either the 2026 or 2027 NFL Draft.
The Steelers have the support of city and county officials as well as Visit Pittsburgh.
Last week, the Stadium Authority backed the Steelers attempt to host the draft.
During a meeting, they gave permission for the necessary agreements needed to bring the draft tot Pittsburgh, essentially approving the Steelers intention to bid.
Leaders said it would strengthen their application to show the support of numerous organizations.
Similar cities have hosted or will host the draft.
Cleveland hosted in 2021. Detroit will host this year’s draft and 2025’s will be in Green Bay.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II expressed optimism about Pittsburgh being able to host the draft.
It’s unknown where the draft would take place if Pittsburgh is selected. Acrisure Stadium or Point State Park are two possibilities.
The NFL draft would likely be the biggest event Pittsburgh has ever hosted.
