The Steelers organization is reacting after the untimely passing of Dwayne Haskins.

The 24-year-old quarterback was in South Florida with some of his teammates working out after an invite from recently-signed free agent Mitch Trubisky.

According to his agent, Haskins was hit by a car and killed early Saturday morning.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin released a statement following the news of Haskins’ passing.

I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins. He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community. Dwayne as a great teammate, but even more so a tremendous friend to so many. I am truly heartbroken.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Kalabrya, and his entire family during this difficult time.

Washington Commanders coach Ron Rivera, who was Haskins' first coach in the NFL also released a statement Saturday afternoon.

Haskins would’ve turned 25 on May 3.
