The good news for the Steelers is no one has been ruled out for Saturday’s divisional game against Baltimore.
Tomlin talks and reaction
The bad news is, it’s too early to tell how badly dinged up they are.
Star linebacker T.J. Watt left the game, late in the fourth quarter, on Sunday against the Eagles with an ankle injury.
Speaking a day earlier than usual on Monday, Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin said he ran into Watt just before his news conference.
“T.J. Watt, I just saw him, he’s walking around comfortably, but again, he’s questionable with his ankle,” said Tomlin.
“Optimistic about the availability of T.J. based on what I’ve seen today,” added Tomlin.
Cornerback Donte Jackson with a back injury and quarterback Justin Fields with an abdominal injury also went down during the game.
With the quick turnaround before Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, Tomlin didn’t have any new information on wide receiver George Pickens (hamstring), safety DeShon Elliott (hamstring) and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (groin)
“None of these six guys could be characterized as out as I sit here today,” said Tomlin. “We’ll probably start with partial participation with them tomorrow and increase that and make decisions the week goes on.”
