Nobody likes to see their team lose, and no other fans in sports hate it more than NFL fans.
The fans live and die with their teams since they get a whole week to build up excitement for one game that very well, could end in a loss leading to a whole day or even a week of misery until they get to try again.
Which fans are most effected by the decision of a game? A new report form The Action Network shows what fans were the moodiest based on whether they won or lost.
By sifting through Reddit and Twitter posts from the 2021-22 NFL season, they were able to collect data on what percentage of fans would write negative comments after each game both losses and wins.
The study found that Las Vegas Raiders fans were the most negative bunch after a team loss. The average percentage of negative reactions after a loss was about 26.8% of posts in each of the 8 losses.
The highest hate percentage came after their brutal 20-9 loss on October 10th, garnering about 30.2% of posts being negative after.
Losses aren't the only time the fans let loose online. Despite winning some fans still gave their displeasure with the game.
The team that saw the highest percentage of negative comments after a win was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 15% of the posts about their 14 wins were still negative.
Your very own Pittsburgh Steelers came in at fourth place on the list with 12.23% of posts being negative in the 9 wins. The most coming on that close 29-27 win against the Bears on November 9th, 18.4% of comments were negative.
Which, given the history of the team is understandable last season was pretty underwhelming despite making a surprise appearance in the play-offs.
And given the status of the team right now and the standards the fans of this great franchise hold, I think we can expect to see at least a little bump in those numbers from our passionate yet moody yinzers.
