Russell Wilson says he would like to retire in black and gold.
The 2024 Steelers starting quarterback joined The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday and said, “my goal is to be with the Pittsburgh Steelers a long time and hopefully finish my career there.”
Wilson believes he will return to the Steelers in 2025 and told McAfee that there have been some contract talks.
“We have started to talk a little bit, obviously, and we had our meetings and everything else and kind of just getting into it,” he said.
Wilson also disputed any issues with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, following reports that the two had a falling out.
“I like Arthur . . . anytime you lose a game or two, and whatever . . . people always try to tear things down,” said Wilson. I think Arthur’s a great coach.”
He also called Pittsburgh a “special place” and had high praise for Head Coach Mike Tomlin.
