Would you trade Cam Heyward for a first-round pick?

The Steelers would never let this happen, but if the price was right, would you trade Steelers defensive captain Cam Heyward?

The guys talked about it on The Fan Morning Show Tuesday morning ahead of the 4 p.m. trade deadline.

Chris Mack and Adam Crowley said they would consider doing it for a first round pick.

Colin Dunlap said he wouldn’t do it and Dorin Dickerson said he wouldn’t even consider it.

“I just don’t’ think the production we would get out of the first round pick that would get would ever reach what Cam Heyward has done on the field and definitely what he’s done off the field,” said Dickerson.

Dickerson says would be getting rid of the glue of the team and the most reliable player on the team the past decade.

On the other hand, Heyward has 12 years’ experience and is 33-years-old. He’s toward the back end of his career.

He also brings a cap hit of $22.2 million in 2023 and 22.4 million in 2024.

Heyward has the highest cap hit of any defensive end this season in the NFL and has the second-highest on the team, behind T.J. Watt.

At 2-6 the Steelers are well on their way to finishing the season without a trip to the playoffs, if a team competing team is willing to give up a first round pick, it would be tempting to move Heyward.

Of course, this is just speculating. Art Rooney II will never let a trade involving Heyward go through.
