PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – He's played five snaps in one game. Rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson had the window opened for him to return this season, same with linebacker Cole Holcomb and defensive lineman Logan Lee.
All three players have 21 days to be activated from Injured Reserve or be lost for the season.
Drafted in the third round there were hopes Wilson could not only play, but make impact plays this season but it just never clicked for him. Wilson missed most of training camp with an ankle injury and never seemed to get back into a groove before suffering the hamstring injury and being put on IR on October 28. Wilson recently before games would catch passes from starting quarterback Russell Wilson during early warmups.
A sixth-round pick from Iowa, Lee injured his calf leading up to the start of the season and hasn't been available to even practice with the team this year.
Holcomb went on the Physically Unable to Perform list leading up to training camp. He suffered a knee injury during Week 9 of last season against Tennessee. He was coming off his first Steelers double-digit tackle game against Jacksonville. He has played in 58 career games, starting 56 between the Steelers and Washington with 442 career tackles.
