DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dez Bryant was right all along.
The former Cowboys receiving great said on Monday that Pittsburgh Steelers free agent receiver James Washington was heading to the Cowboys this offseason. Fast forward a few days, and it's coming to fruition.
Washington's representation confirmed that he had agreed to a one-year deal with Dallas in a text message to 105.3 The Fan's Bobby Belt.
Washington, 25, is a native of Stamford, Texas. The Steelers drafted him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State.
Washington was limited to fourth-receiver duties due to a crowded receiving core in Pittsburgh that included JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool. He had 24 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games played last season. In 60 career games, Washington has 114 catches for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He'll currently slot in as the Cowboys' No. 3 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, but Dallas will likely add another option through free agency or the draft next month.
