PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) In an attempt to gain funds for the Hockey is the Goal campaign, Robert Morris University is set to host their first celebrity hockey event.
It was announced Thursday by the RMU Department of Athletics that the event would be held on Sunday, Nov. 7 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.
The event will feature an exhibition game featuring some former Penguins, other Pittsburgh athletes, and local media.
They will faceoff against the former RMU Colonial hockey players.
Former Penguins that are penned to participate are Colby Armstrong, Phil Bourque, Tyler Kennedy, Ryan Malone, and Eric Tangradi.
Former Steelers Brett Keisel and Shaun Suisham will also join the event.
RMU alum and two-time Olympian Brianne McLaughlin-Bittle is listed to be on the athletes team.
Other celebrities include Mayor Bill Peduto and KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert.
