Governor Tom Wolf plans to veto a bill giving school districts the authority to decide whether and how to play fall sports and also spectator limits.

The bill passed the state Senate 39-11 a week after it passed the House.

Wolf has 10 days to veto the bill, but the veto can be overridden by the House and Senate after it passed by a two-third majority in both chambers.

The Wolf administration says schools already can decide on fall sports and fear some stands would be filled with spectators.

WPIAL football kicks off Friday night.
