Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson has once again made headlines, thanks to his headshots.
NHL Player Safety has offered a hearing to Wilson regarding his most recent incident in boarding Boston Bruins' Brandon Carlo.
The hearing will be held in person (via Zoom) and opens the door of a new suspension being longer than five games.
While the date and time of his most recent hearing is yet to be determined, the hit against Carlo comes a little over a week since he laid a late check on Pittsburgh Penguins forward Mark Jankowski.
Due to his antics on the ice, Wilson has been given multiple suspensions from NHL Player Safety, the most recent being a 20-game suspension that was shortened to 14.
That came in September of 2018, and under the eyes of the rulebook he is no longer a "repeat offender."
This is the second straight game that the Capitals have had a player receive discipline from Player Safety.
Star player Alex Ovechkin was hit with a $5,000 fine for spearing the Bruins' Trent Frederic in the groin.
