Former Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney is getting roasted on Twitter for coming to the defense of Capitals forward Tom Wilson, after his latest attack on a player.

In a post, Whitney is fake crying as he says “Tom Wilson should be kicked out of hockey.” He also posted, “Another reminder to ever moron crying that Tom Wilson should be kicked out of the league…he wasn’t even suspended.”

Another tweet said, “Just a quick reminder that every GM in the NHL would take Tom Wilson on their team.”

On Monday night during a game between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals, Wilson punched Rangers’ Pavel Buchnevich in the back of the head while he was on the ice.

Shortly after that incident, he can be seen pulling Artemi Panarin by the hair with Panarin’s head slamming on the ground as Wilson lands on him.

Wilson got a 10-minute misconduct penalty and on Tuesday was fined $5,000 with no suspension.

Panarin will reportedly miss the rest of the season.

Wilson is a repeat offender, having been suspended five separate times over his career, including just this season after an incident with the Boston Bruins.

Plenty of people on Twitter gave it to Whitney after his take.

The Rangers and Capitals play again Wednesday night, should be interesting.
