Their latest project, the TLC Forever documentary, is set to air on Lifetime and A&E on June 3. And while many have wondered, what else is there to tell in this new documentary since the group did a biopic in 2013, CrazySexyCool, Chilli assures that this documentary will be different.
"We're at 30 years now, almost 31 but even then we could only get so much in two hours," she said, "and it's so much stuff with us and with this documentary we were really excited to do it once we thought about it."
She mentions that they go "a lot deeper" in this documentary revealing that fans will get to see a lot more vulnerability from the two, especially Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, who typically isn't the most "soft" according to Chilli.
Chilli hopes that fans "really get a chance to see how hard this really is, because this is different from the contracts and all that, we told that part of our life, we already said that story," she said adding that, "I just hope that they walk away really seeing how strong we are as women and I hope that that's inspiring."
Reflecting on the passing of former bandmate Left Eye, Chilli says "it doesn't even seem like it's been that long... it's strange with it being just the two of us, I'll never get used to that. I've accepted it but I'll never be like 100% comfortable with it being just the two and not her, because I miss her."
The group's Hot Summer Nights tour kicks off June 1 in Pelham, Alabama and ends July 9 in Concord, California with Shaggy, En Vogue and Sean Kingston and while there is no date in Atlanta, Chilli explained that it was not intentional. With everyone and their mama on tour, the routing and venue availability just didn't work, but she urges anyone from Atlanta that wants to see the show take a quick little road trip.
