There’s been several initiatives states and local groups have taken to encourage individuals to get the COVID-19 vaccine. One concert promoter in Florida has come up with a creative venture that will make it pretty clear why music fans will want to get the vaccine.

As live music begins to make its return, Paul Williams of Leadfoot Promotions in Tampa Bay is giving concertgoers a major incentive to get the COVID-19 vaccine. A $981.99 discount on concert tickets.
Williams is throwing a concert featuring the punk bands Teenage Bottlerocket, MakeWar, and Rutterkin on June 26 in St. Petersburg and decided to make the price of tickets different for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
If you’re vaccinated, a ticket will only cost $18 in advance and $20 if you buy the day of the show. If you’re unvaccinated, one ticket is going to cost you $999.99. In order to receive the discount, the ticketing website states, “you will need to have had your second shot of Pfizer or Moderna, or your single shot of Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine on or before 6/12/2021.”
“If you do not care about the discount, tickets are available for a flat rate of $999.99.”
What led Williams to make this decision? "I also wanted it to be a vaccine drive to get the fence-sitters off the fence," he told ABC News. "I wanted to get the kids that want to go to shows to go out and get their shots."
Williams said the response from the local community has been “overwhelmingly positive.” In total, he has around 250 discounted tickets for sale, while just four full-price tickets are available at $999.99. As of writing, Williams said no one has bought a full-price ticket.
If an unvaccinated individual buys the $999.99, Williams promises they’ll “be treated like everyone else.”
