Maggie McKay interviews Eugene Lee about A Soldier's Play

A Soldier's Play is at The Ahmanson Theatre from May 23rd to June 25th.It's set on a US Army base in the segregation era South, a loose adaptation of Herman Melville's Billy Budd, about a murder investigation of a Sergeant in an all Black unit.

Actor, writer and director Eugene Lee stars in the play along with Norm Lewis and several other incredibly talented actors. Lee has appeared in movies, tv, and theatre. He talks about what this play means to him, his involvement with it over the decades since it debuted in 1982 and why
it's as relevant today as it was the first time around.
