
SANTA CLARITA (CNS) - Excessive speed may have triggered a two-vehicle crash in Santa Clarita that killed one person and injured four others, authorities said Sunday.
The crash occurred at about 11:25 p.m. Saturday at Sand Canyon Road and Sierra Highway, involving a black truck and white SUV, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The CHP said the black truck had been speeding just prior to the crash. A person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics dispatched to the location at 11:18 p.m. rushed four people to hospitals, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.
