MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KNX) — Alternating full, nightly closures of the westbound and eastbound 60 Freeway are scheduled for this weekend on the east side of Riverside County’s Moreno Valley.
According to county transportation officials, the following closures are set to take effect: On Friday, April 8, all westbound lanes of the 60 at Moreno Beach Drive from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning; on Saturday, April 9, all eastbound lanes of the 60 at Moreno Beach Drive from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning; and on both Friday and Saturday nights, Moreno Beach Drive from Ironwood Avenue to Eucalyptus Avenue from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Closures have been enacted to make way for a project to replace the existing two-lane Moreno Beach Bridge over the freeway with an updated seven-lane version. The new bridge will have added safety features, including simplified freeway entrances and exits, and new storm drains.
The bridge project is expected to be completed by early 2023, according to Moreno Valley officials.
Scheduled closures are subject to change depending on whether work deadlines are met and there are no disruptions to material deliveries, city officials added.
