An Altadena woman is dead after she was stabbed during a work Zoom call.
Carol Brown, a coordinator at Pasadena City College’s Black STEM program, was talking to a colleague via Zoom when a man came into view and dragged Brown’s brother, Kenneth Preston, 69, outside.
According to Pasadena Star-News, the suspect, who later stabbed and killed Brown and Preston, is Brown’s son and Preston’s nephew.
According to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, “The Zoom caller witnessed the attack on both the male and female and called 911 to report the crime.”
The suspect was identified as Robert Cotton, 32. He was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of murder.
Cotton is being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles on $2 million bail, according to jail records. He is due in court on Thursday.
