L.A.’s Memorial Coliseum has been transformed into all things World Cup as FIFA kicks off its Fan Festival on Thursday.
L.A. World Cup Host Committee's Katherine Schlossman said the four-day event will be affordable and family-friendly.
“We've got huge screens to watch the matches. Mexico on Thursday, U.S. on Friday, other featured matches on Saturday and Sunday,” she told KNX News’ Karen Adams. “There's activations. The LAFC and the Galaxy are down there with activations for kids to play on. We've got characters and mascots coming out.”
There will also be food from other countries. Chef Rachel Hunt said the inspiration for the menu was “ street food that people in these countries love.”
“We have poutine from Canada,” she said. “We have a couple things from Australia, some things from Germany, Spain, Brazil, and South Africa.”
Tickets are $10. Kids under 12 can go for free.
