A fire with intense flames at a one-story commercial building that shares a wall with a church in South Los Angeles was extinguished in 32 minutes by 50 firefighters Wednesday evening with no injuries reported.

Firefighters responded at 10:33 p.m. to 2158 W. Slauson Ave., near Van Ness Avenue, where they fought the flames inside the commercial building and prevented them from damaging the church, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
