Officers dispatched at about 8:20 p.m. that night to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of South Susan Street located the 13-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Three additional juveniles, ages 14, 15, 16, were also found to have sustained gunshot wounds as a result of the incident," according to a police statement. "All three victims were transported to local hospitals and listed as stable."

Police said an "intensive three-month investigation" revealed that five suspects drove into rival gang territory and shot the victims. The suspects were identified as Martin Eusebio, 20; Joaquin Uvalle, 19; Angel Diaz, 19; Dan Mejia, 29 and a 15-year-old juvenile.

Detectives arrested all five suspects Wednesday and served search warrants at multiple residences in Santa Ana and Garden Grove. The suspects were booked at the Santa Ana Jail and Juvenile Hall, and detectives were collaborating with the Orange County District Attorney's Office for filings.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting was urged to call the SAPD at 714-245-8390 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-847-6227.
