A Los Angeles pipe band is headed to Scotland to compete against some of the best bagpipers in the world.
The City of Angels Pipe Band will be headed to Glasgow on August 7th to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships.
Trevor Takahashi, the band’s pipe major, and a few others started the band in 2021.
“This is a very traditional forum and so like the concepts of really being inclusive of folks that are BIPOC and queer aren't really like the first things that are thought of and so we wanted to create something where everyone felt safe and celebrated,” he said.

There are around 30 band members, ranging from teens to members in their 60s.
