
With Election Day underway, local law enforcement agencies will be on standby to deal with possible issues.
Deputy Chief David Kowalski with the Los Angeles Police Department told KNX News’ Pete Demetriou there is a limit to what officers will do regarding checks on balloting locations.

“We're not going to take a position where we're positioned at an election site. We're going to go there as needed,” he said. “We don't want to interfere with any type of the democratic process of the election. But obviously, these are concerns that could be on our radar, and of course, we'll be working with all of our city and county and government officials if any type of incidents like this do occur and we need to respond and assist.”
The LAPD Emergency Operation Center will be open Tuesday and may stay open for the next several days.
If there are any attempts to interfere with election efforts, both the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office will have teams that can move in and assess any reported violations.
