
LOS ANGELES (KNX) – A man who led police on a pursuit through Los Angeles and then tried to escape was caught on camera mugging a woman while running from the police Sunday evening.

Video by NBC Los Angeles showed police chasing a black car as it exits the highway and drives through a residential area before going into a neighborhood. The car stops at a cul de sac at Stone Avenue and Navy Street.
Continuous coverage of the chase showed the man bursting out of the car and running through a backyard.
The man is then seen on a main street on National Boulevard and South Barrington Avenue where he approaches a woman walking two dogs. The camera captures him grabbing the woman’s purse, a struggle ensuing between the two. The woman clings on to the purse, falling on to the ground. The man falls on top of her before grabbing a hold of the purse and taking off.
He was arrested on the corner of National Boulevard and South Barrington Avenue. The woman with the two dogs from earlier was seen with police and, according to NBC Los Angeles, was given her purse back.
The Long Beach Police Department told the outlet the man was wanted in connection to the shooting death of a woman in Long Beach.
