A program aimed at helping California residents cover their mortgage is almost out of money.
The California Mortgage Relief Program has about $175 million left of its $1 billion budget, according to the Los Angeles Times. The program helped homeowners who struggled to pay monthly mortgage payments and overdue property tax due to hardships from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Residents are still able to apply. To qualify, residents must've missed two mortgage payments by February 1st or one property tax payment.
