The battle of the tech titans appears to be back on, as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg both commented about their potential mixed martial arts bout this weekend after a few weeks of silence.

On Sunday, the Facebook co-founder shared that he was set to fight his social media rival in a post that said, “I’m ready.”

Musk also discussed the upcoming fight, saying he would stream it on his platform X, previously known as Twitter.

“Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X,” Musk said on his platform. “All proceeds will go to charity for veterans.”

Zuckerberg has not publicly confirmed whether he has agreed to that information.

While both seem to be gearing up for the fight, it still lacks one crucial thing: a date.

However, the battle of the posts between the billionaires appears to show they are as ready as ever, with Zuckerberg responding to Musk’s statement about “preparing for the fight” by saying on his platform Threads that he could go “today.”

“I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed,” the 39-year-old Zuckerberg wrote on his platform threads. “Not holding my breath.”

The 52-year-old Musk shared on Sunday evening in response to Zuckerberg that he may need surgery before the fight but that he would nail down a date soon.

“Exact date is still in flux. I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow,” Musk said in a post on X. “May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.”

When the fight was first brought up, many thought the prospect of two billionaires beating each other up was just a fun back-and-forth.

However, the president of the UFC, Dana White, shared last month that Zuckerberg texted him after the initial post from Musk, inquiring about his help setting up the match.

“Both guys are absolutely dead serious about this. They both want to do it. Mark Zuckerberg hit me up first and said, ‘Is he serious?’” White said at the time.

White also said he asked Musk, who claimed to be up for the face-off against his head rival in the social media world.

“These guys would raise, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars for charity, and you know, you don’t have to be a big fight fan to be interested in this fight,” White said.
