
A man was found with gunshot wounds near Mission Springs Park in Desert Hot Springs and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, police said Tuesday.
Officers responded at 7:02 p.m. Sunday to a report of gunshots in the area of the 66700 block of Park Lane, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

"Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male with gunshot wounds," police wrote in a statement. "The victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds."
Homicide detectives subsequently responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
