The Ronald Reagan Library was evacuated on Monday due to a vegetation fire in the area.

The fire was first reported by Watch Duty around 1:45 p.m. The evacuation order for the library came in at 2:18 p.m.

As of 2:26 p.m., the fire was at three acres.

Melissa Giller with the library told KNX News that she, the other library employees, and the patrons were moved to the staff parking lot.

“We know we'll be able to go back to work soon, but this is the closest the fire has been to our property since 2019,” she said.

Forward progress on the fire was stopped just after 2:30 p.m.
