The Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia has been postponed following a terrorist attack in the city of New Orleans early on New Year's Day.

Sources tell WWL Radio that the delay will be for 24 hours, resetting the game to kick off at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The incident occurred about 3 a.m. shortly after New Year's when a pickup truck plowed onto Bourbon Street and killed 10 people, injuring dozens before stepping out of the vehicle and opening fire before being gunned down by officers.

The FBI is expected to handle the investigation, which has been described as an act of terrorism.
