THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KNX) – A teenage girl was hospitalized Sunday after being attacked by five large dogs in Thousand Oaks.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Manzanita Lane, according to KABC-7.

Ventura County Fire Department said the girl was taken to the hospital in serious condition. CBS L.A. reported the girl had bite wounds to the head, body and arms.
The dogs were identified as Cane Corsos, a type of mastiff. Officials said the dogs and girl are from the same residence.
The neighbor across the street believes the family was trying to get the dogs back in the house.
“The young girl I guess had slapped the one dog to try to get him in and I guess he turned on her and once the dog started biting, all of them just rat packed her,” the neighbor told KNX News, adding that the dogs went after the girl’s mom when she tried to intervene.
The neighbor also said he ran out to try to help, but that three of the dogs tried to go after him. When he ran back to his yard, the dog returned to attacking the girl.
Firefighters and Ventura County Sheriff's Department deputies were able to stop the attack, CBS L.A. said.
The girl’s mother reportedly suffered minor injuries.
The dogs were taken away by animal control.
