
Two South Los Angeles men pled guilty on Wednesday to federal charges in connection with an armed robbery at a Beverly Hills restaurant, according to federal prosecutors.
Malik Lamont Powell, 21, and Kahi McGhee,18, who also uses the name “Cameron Smith,” pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, interference with commerce by robbery and using and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, said the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Marquise Anthony Gardon, 41, pleaded guilty on Sept. 10, to interference with commerce by robbery and using and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
The three men, who are part of a gang called the Rollin’ 30s Crips, held a man sitting in the outdoor section of Il Pastaio restaurant at gunpoint on March 4, according to court documents. The victim told KNX 1070 that he wrestled the gun away from one of the suspects and it went off, hitting a woman in the leg.
The alleged robbers took off with the victim’s Richard Mille watch but left the gun at the restaurant.
Court officials said each defendant can face up to 20 years in federal prison for each of the robbery-related offenses.
