The campus issued an emergency alert just before 10:10 a.m.

“Please go inside and move away from doors and windows. If you are not on campus, please stay away from the area,” the school said on Twitter, asking people on campus to shelter in place.

UC Berkeley Police said that while it’s not an active shooter situation, police “are actively looking for a person who may want to harm specific individuals.”

This is developing story.
